ABOUT ARMSTRONG WORKS:

Armstrong Works has been a central part of British engineering for over 175 years dating back to 1847. The historic site covers 33,000m² and it is a third of a mile long. When the purpose-built factory was constructed in 1981, it was the longest single span building in Europe. The scale of Armstrong Works allows both Pearson Engineering and Responsive Engineering to offer a vast range of capabilities under one roof, maximising efficiency, safety and sustainability.

Using the extensive capabilities of the site, Pearson Engineering and Responsive Engineering are proud to support and contribute to all major UK land programmes including the manufacture of turret structures for Challenger 3, armour packs for AJAX, mission modules for BOXER and Dry Support Bridge structures.

The teams at Armstrong Works are proud to have been recognised around the world for their contribution to armoured vehicle capability and continually invest in research and development to meet the ever-evolving needs of our armed forces. We are using the lessons we learn every day to contribute to a safer and more sustainable future across a number of important industries.

We use the skills inherent within our teams, and our approach to helping people to overcome adversity to inform our social value strategy which aims to deliver a ‘People Advantage’ in our community. Find out more in our social value section.
