SOCIAL VALUE:
At Pearson Engineering and Responsive Engineering, we are proud to be recognised in the UK and around the world for our contribution to armoured vehicle programmes. We are committed to developing the world’s best combat engineering capability, helping end-users to overcome adversity through the deployment of our products and the delivery of our manufacturing services.
Building on this theme, we are proud to support the North East of England in a number of ways to create opportunity, overcome adversity, build resilience, and deploy engineering excellence. We strive to deliver a ‘People Advantage’ in our local community.
Our Social Value Strategy
Based in the North East of England, we are proud to support the region in a number of ways through the five pillars of our social value strategy.
Championing the North East
We have a proud history of engineering excellence at Armstrong Works; we aim to attract and retain talent in the North East by working with local partners to drive economic growth, innovation and investment across the region.
Nurturing our employees
People are at the heart of what we do. We are honoured to hold the Gold award in the Employer Recognition Scheme and we take pride in welcoming early career and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds. Having earned Silver for the Better Health at Work Award, we’re committed to advancing to Gold with our latest initiatives.
Opportunities for veterans, service-leavers and disadvantaged communities
Whether in active duty or at home, we are committed to supporting the defence community. We work with a number of charities and organisations that provide support to disadvantaged service personnel, military veterans and their families.
Developing the next-generation of skills for critical industries
Utilising our globally recognised engineering expertise, our aim is to empower upcoming generations in STEAM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) by sharing our knowledge and breaking down barriers.
Protecting our planet
The environment remains one of our main priorities and we are committed to reducing the negative climatic effects of manufacturing. Alongside this, we have developed STEM/STEAM activities with an environmental emphasis and launched an internal Environmental Action Group.
